GOING FERAL – A Creative Playday for Grown Ups

Sunday 28 April 2013, 10.30am – 5pm
Woodlands near Bristol (top secret location sent on booking)

SINGING CHICKSSinging together and swinging from branches … An enchanted day with creative ways to explore and respond to the beautiful woodlands around you. Time to breathe the fresh air, to leave your everyday cares behind and get inspired in the great outdoors. You don’t need to know how to sing, how to dance, what trees are called or indeed anything. You need curiosity, a good jacket and a sense of adventure. The woods await you and beckon you in.

You will be guided by Mel and Itta, both experienced leaders in ecological arts, improvisation and site-specific performance. Their workshop style is supportive and playful. Beginning with a good vocal and physical warm up, we explore using voice, words, movement, trailmaking, questing, mapping, foraging, group creativity and solo reflection time. We inhabit our voices and bodies, season and place together, landing in the present with a satisfying thump.

Participants say:

“The best fun you can have in the woods without taking your clothes off.”

“Perfect day – getting in touch with child-like emotions, being wild, uninhibited, loud, different, allowed to BE.

“Thank yo so much, Itta and Mel. I really enjoyed my day, the combination of silence and sound, movement and stillness all so well held by the two of you … the memory of the day will stay with me for a long time.
